How to Help Prevent Suicide

The Warning Signs of Suicide

If someone is showing these signs, immediately start watching them to see if they show any more signs. One of the big signs is if they start talking about wanting to die or killing themselves. Also talking about hopelessness or no reason to live is a warning sign. Starting the use of drugs or alcohol is also an almost sure sign someone is suicidal.

How to Deal with Suicidal Thoughts

When suicidal thoughts start to enter your mind, it's paramount to not follow through with the thoughts. Put distance between suicidal thoughts and suicidal actions. Never use drugs or alcohol while the thoughts last. Remove items in your home that can cause you to hurt yourself. Remember that other people have made it through these thoughts. The most important part is to tell other people these feelings. Keeping it to yourself will make it more likely for you to commit suicide
