Brophy newbies are bringing the KIND in KINDergarten! We are talking to all grades about kindness this month- what kindness is, different ways you can be kind, and how good good good it feels! This photo shows the book the Ks listened to about Kindness Dots (which basically are reminders to BE KIND), and boy oh boy, did they ever get jiggy (I mean "dotty") with it! Framingham High School Drama Company will be holding children's auditions for the upcoming winter musical, LES MISERABLES- School Edition. Any 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader in the Framingham Public Schools may audition for these roles.

Children's Auditions: Monday, September 16th- 6:00pm

Performances: January 10, 11, 16, 17, 18
The following roles will be cast from the Children's Auditions:
Young Cosette (Girl): Fantine’s young daughter. Boards with The Thenardiers. She is mistreated, worked like a drudge, beaten by Madame and bullied by young Eponine. She is fearful, lonely and dreams of something better.
Young Eponine (Girl): non-singing/non-speaking. The Thenardiers spoiled, pampered daughter who bullies young Cosette mercilessly.
Gavroche (Boy): A child of the streets who has made his way with intelligence, honor and a cocky courage that endears him to the student revolutionaries. He sees himself as one of them.
All students auditioning for the roles of Young Cosette, Young Eponine will be taught a section of "Castle on the Cloud" for the audition.
All students auditioning for the role of Gavroche will be taught a section of "Beggars" for the audition.

- September 26 - The Office of Health and Wellness has offered us 10 spots in a full day of professional development on Mindfulness in the Classroom. Since we are leading the way on this initiative (THANK YOU) I would love to give you this chance to further develop your practice. We would like one teacher from each school if possible. Your colleagues from Physical Education will join us as well. Interested?? Email me. First come first served.

Your Principal may certainly add to these as is needed at your school, Most of the information below is on your board every day and your curriculum is on Canvas and included in the links below.
If you need help or guidance or you want to share how you plan to create these- let's talk.
Just FYI- the SEL component is the Character Trait of the Month for example- September is Kindness!
This is simply to be sure we are all proceeding through the scope and sequence at a pace that allows us to get through the map. Please be in touch if you have any questions.
