Cullman City Schools
The Week in Review - November 8, 2019
Remembering Our Heroes
Our teachers find many ways to instill into our students a love of country and a respect for those who serve and protect. One of the most touching demonstrations of this is the Veterans Day programs across our campuses. Our students and teachers always take time to honor those who have served in our armed forces.
Reciprocal Teaching
Lindsey Brannon, EES Curriculum Coach, is shown modeling Reciprocal Teaching with the students in Mrs. Martin's class.

Students Introduced to ACAP Tools
ACAP is the Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program. The ACAP Summative assessment will be administered to grades 2-8 starting this spring. The assessment will be administered 100% online. A training environment called the Online Tools Training has been created to help students learn about the testing system and provide practice with the tools. Technology Integration Specialist Sharon Drake has been providing support to our teachers and students as they prepare for their first experience with ACAP.
Perfect Attendance
We encourage and recognize perfect attendance from our students. It is important to be in school and a part of the daily lessons that take place in our classrooms. The CCPS students below had perfect attendance during the month of October.
Also the CCPS teachers pictured below were recognized and rewarded for their perfect attendance as well. It has a significant, positive impact on students when their teacher is in class with them each day. Thank you CCPS teachers!
Computer Science Fundamentals at WES
Computer Science (CS) is now a part of the K - 12 curriculum in Alabama schools. With the adoption of the Digital Literacy and Computer Science Course of Study this year, students of all ages are being introduced to these concepts. Along with many other duties, Aimee Bates supports teachers with the implementation of CS in the classroom.
