Harrison Happenings

September 22-26

This week in Room 300

Happy first day of fall! I hope everyone had a restful weekend. In our classroom this week we are continuing with our alphabet letters M-P. I cannot say it enough... PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE these letters at home please! Many of our students know almost all of their letters, but there are still a handful that are struggling with letters that we went over weeks ago. If I have given you flashcards to work on, please look at those every night. The quicker they learn their letters, the quicker they will be reading! :) We will also continue learning about numbers to 10 and practice making numbers in our tens frames. Our sight words for this week are: dog, the, see. It shows that the class has been practicing their sight words!
This week we are also learning about community helpers! On Friday, we will get to meet some community helpers and learn about what they do for their jobs. It will be a fun experience!

Lightning Word Notebooks

I wanted to clarify a few things about the lightning word notebooks. These notebooks are sent home everything night except Friday. Please complete ONE activity per night. Mrs. Wilson will sometimes glue more than one activity in on Mondays so that she can save herself time in the mornings, but we prefer that your child only do one activity per night so that they are getting practice every single night. We check those notebooks each day, and if your child has not completed it, they have to do it during recess. :(
