The Bulldog Buzz SC Counseling News

Fall 2021 - 1st Quarter

Hello Summer Creek Students/Families

The school year has started and we are so excited and ready for a great school year!

Your SCHS counseling team is here and as a counseling team, we will continue to implement and follow the guidelines for the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs. The model consists of us providing guidance, individual planning, responsive services such as small and individual group support, and system support for our students/families/staff.

Here at Humble ISD and at Summer Creek High School not only do we follow the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs, but we also developed a personalized counseling approach to counseling

The purpose of Personalized Counseling at SCHS is to provide EVERY student the opportunity to connect with their counselor and be proactive in creating meaningful connections.

All students will receive two individual 1:1 meetings a year with their counselor, with one in the fall and one in the spring. In these meetings, the students will have the opportunity to discuss their goals and aspirations, and discuss the options for their personal path in Humble ISD.

At this time we are having our Senior Personalized 1:1 Counseling Meetings and in the next following weeks we will meet with Juniors, then Sophomores, then Freshman.

Senior 1:1 meeting topics include graduation requirements, post-grad plans (CCMR-College Career Military Readiness), SAT/ACT testing, Scholarships, and Financial Aid.
