The Wonderful World of Woodbury
Weekly Update for Families: April 24th
Be sure to scroll through to check out important information and updates on future events and student celebrations.
Friendly Reminder: FRIDAY IS AN 11:10 DISMISSAL.
Grandparent's Day was so wonderful! We are so grateful for the wonderful turnout and hope all of our grandparents and grand-friends enjoyed our program and time with their grandkids.
Thank you to all who shopped our bookfair! Every dollar spent goes toward Scholastic dollars that purchase us new books and library supplies. We appreciate your support!
The FrogLady will be joining us this week. We were able to use donations to our activity fund to host this event. Last time we hosted the FrogLady (2019) the students were in awe and Deb Krohn is a fantastic presenter who is excellent at engaging our students. We can't wait!
We are hiring! We are still in need of special education applicants, so please spread the word!
Know a future Woodbury Kindergarten student? If they haven't already, please encourage them to register before the school year ends. This will allow us to screen their child in a timely manner and allow them to receive updates about our school in advance of the school year. Thank you!
Check out our great work!
Congratulations to the following students who completed their March Reading Challenge! We are so proud of you! Keep reading!

Kane County Cougars Game: Thursday May 18th
Congratulations to those students who successfully completed the Ozzie Reading Club! They have earned a free ticket to a Kane County Cougar game, a drawstring bag, hot dog, and drink. Family members need to attend the game with their child. This is a fun event that the whole family would enjoy. The bus will be leaving Woodbury at 4:30 (this is tentative as we have not had anyone request the bus so far). The students will be allowed to walk in the “Reading Parade” at 5:30, the game begins at 6:30, and the students are allowed to “run the bases” after the game.
Notes from the Nurse

New Procedures for Kindergarten Registration
Mission Kindergarten:
We are excited to welcome our new class of kindergartens to the school district. We will have several events to help these learners and their families build relationships with the school district. To begin the process we need all incoming kindergarten families to prove residence and sign up for our “Preparing to Launch” event.
Starting on Monday, March 6 please contact Jody at the district office to find out what you need to prove residence (Residence Paperwork). Once you have proven residence you can sign up for the first event at your elementary school. No families will be given a screening time at “Preparing to Launch” without proving residence first.
Kindergarten Registration Process
1. Contact Jody at the district office at (815-786-2187) starting on Monday, March 6
2. Complete the proof of residency: https://drive.google.com/.../1IkhptNE1jsR8RyhnlJB.../view...
3. Complete online registration in Teacher Ease
You will receive this link once residence requirements are met.
Superintendent's Notes
Please Click Here to access the most recent Superintendent's Notes. The purpose of these notes is for stakeholders to gain district-specific information that may not be included in building-level monthly newsletters.
