What Is It?

The Melting Pot is the mixing of all of the cultures, ideas, and peoples that have changed the American Society.

Along with the Melting Pit there comes the idea of a group of people that will start to have a larger impact of American Society then they do now. This is is called Minority Majority. This idea states that there will be an emergence of of a non-Caucasian majority, that will outnumber white Americans, therefore having a larger influence on society.

Now Time For Political Socialization

Political Socialization is the process through which people acquire a particular political orientation. With age, this orientation grows firmer, beings you become more knowledgeable in politics as you become older.


HOW DO PEOPLE BECOME "POLITICALLY SOCIALIZED" YOU MAY ASK...

There are three major ways in which people acquire their political orientation, these are...

  • From your family
  • Through Mass Media (TV, Radio, Electronics, etc.)
  • Schooling (Who teachers you, and what they teach you)
