From our BTC....
Benchmark dates are 9/4 - 9/18..this also includes make-ups. We are still using the NWEA system for benchmarking and the mechanics of the MAP testing portal are still the same as previous years. We still test in ELA and Math. Below are just a few reminders about benchmarking:
1.Grade 2-5:
Growth: 2-5 Reading
Growth 2-5 Math
*Please assign the test to your students - if you do not assign you will run the risk of a student taking the incorrect test - if this happens they will need to retest.
2. Please do not TERMINATE a test - if you are having technical issues please call me for support.
3. There is a new feature called "Test Engagement and Rapid Guessing". A handout will be placed in your mailbox regarding this new feature - with rapid guessing the system will pause student tests so please review before testing so you are not surprised if this happens. You can also visit the NWEA website and click on "What's New in MAP" to read more info about this. https://teach.mapnwea.org/assist/help_map/Content/Testing/TestingTips.htm#Test
4. Please do not have any untested students..if a student arrives after the benchmark has closed they still need to be tested. If a test is in the SUSPENDED mode for more than 10 days, tests will start over at the beginning. Please remember to test ALL your students.
5. If you are new to PV, or if you aren't new to PCSD but new to PV, please let me know ASAP so I can set you up with an account.
I will be in and out of PV all this week so if you need a refresher, a tutorial, or have any questions, please let me know by email for phone..my cell number is below. My office is room 200D (in the MC behind the circulation desk).
Please let me know if I can offer support in any way.
Thanks!

Land Lab-Green Spaces Improve Mental Health
Green spaces are those with vegetation designated for recreational or aesthetic purposes, and there is significant new research indicating that green space can provide mental health benefits. Please use our outdoor classroom!
Get involed... we need volunteer members for our committees to be an adult mentor for Check-In/Check-Out
Please consider volunteering for one of our committees here at PV (Garden, Sparkle, and Sunshine). Last year we had many staff members join and are looking forward to having another great turn out!
We also need volunteers for providing a structured & trusting relationship to our “at-risk” students! We are looking for teachers and staff to offer guidance, support, and encouragement for some of our students in need of Tier II behavioral interventions. At PV, we use the Check-In/Check-Out program, which is a monitoring system that provides frequent positive adult contacts, reminders to the student of the expectations, & feedback of performance. If you are interested in volunteering as a Mentor, please sign up on the Committee Sign-Up Sheet under Check-In/Check-Out. Thank you!!!!
Use the Google Spreadsheet below to volunteer for your preferred committee or CICO.
