Board of Education Members Receive Recognition

Board members Ed Rarden, Kimberly Copenhaver, Cathy Heinz, Tom Huelskamp, and T.J. Milford of USD 225 have been honored by the Kansas Association of School Boards for participation in training programs.

The above listed board members received certificates through the KASB Leadership Academy for training and meeting attendance over the past year.

The KASB Leadership Academy recognizes the dedication school board members and administrators exhibit as they commit to continuing education throughout the year. Points are awarded on a yearly basis for attendance at regional and state conferences and participation in specialized training at the local level. The points are totaled at the end of the program year.

USD 225 board members received Honor Roll Level I Certificates, each accumulating up to 74 points.

Box Tops for Education

If you have boxtops at home, please bring them in. In order to have the boxtops ready to mail by the deadline, please send them to school by Thursday, February 27.

In addition, Traditional Box Tops clips are being phased out of production, but may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. You can still clip them and send them to school. Every valid Box Tops clip is worth 10¢ for our school. Make sure each one has a clearly visible product acronym and expiration date.

Eventually the Box Tops program will become digital-only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label.

If you see this label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10¢ for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school’s earnings online. If you do not wish to download the app, send the receipt to the school, and we will scan it.
