Board approves FY20 budget
At its Sept. 17 meeting, the Board approved the FY20 budget. Each year nearly 80% of the district's revenue comes from local property taxes. The balance comes from state and federal funding, and other local revenues such as registration fees and donations. This marks the 23rd consecutive year Barrington 220 has passed a balanced budget. In addition, Barrington 220 continues to maintain fiscal responsibility and earn a AAA bond rating from Standard & Poor's.

The event will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7pm in the BHS auditorium. The event is FREE and open to the Barrington community.
Former Board member finalist in Teacher of the Year Award
Ruffolo served on the Barrington 220 Board of Education from 2011-2019. He is a physics teacher at West Leyden High School, located in Northlake, in Leyden High School District 212.
Barrington 220 Communications Department wins awards
ICYMI: Barrington 220 to sell former district office
Earlier this month the Board approved a resolution that would authorize the sale of the former district office, located at 310 E. James Street in Barrington. The sale of the 12,413 square foot building will happen through a sealed bid process. The minimum sale price is set at $900,000. The building is located in an area with a mix of houses and businesses. The district moved into the location in the early 1970s, when the school district was officially formed.
At the end of the 2018-19 school year, Barrington 220 moved into its new location at 515 West Main Street, right across from Barrington High School.
