MJS LOVE GRAMS!
Send a Love Gram to your sweetheart today!
And Cupid will deliver it on Valentine’s Day!
Roses are Red, Violets are Blue,
Send your crush a Love Gram
To Show your love is true.
A Valentine's Day tradition of giving students LOVE GRAMS will begin this week. This event is a fundraiser for local charities and the entire event is managed by the 8th grade class. The attached link includes the LOVE GRAM form parents can fill out to send nice messages and a treat to your child. Sometimes students will send LOVE GRAMS to their friends by completing a form and choosing a treat for the child. Your kindergartner may suggest sending a Love Gram to his or her 6th Grade K-Pal friend as a nice gesture of appreciation!
There are other options besides sweet treats to choose from so look over the form carefully to see what suits your needs as parents. The 8th graders will deliver the kindergarten LOVE GRAMS to each classroom before Valentine's Day to be distributed by each teacher. The kindergartners will bring their LOVE GRAMS home in sealed bags to open up and enjoy with their parents.
Feel free to make multiple copies of the LOVE GRAM form if you would like to send more than one LOVE GRAM. Remember to fill out your child's or another student's name and homeroom (e.g. Mrs. Hale or KJH) to make sure the LOVE GRAMS are delivered to the correct recipient. We also recommend placing LOVE GRAMS in an sealed envelope with the amount due when sending LOVE GRAMS back to school.
ALL LOVE GRAMS are due by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5th, 2016. Each classroom will have an envelope hanging on the wall labeled LOVE GRAMS if families would like to drop off LOVE GRAM orders by February 5th.

KINDERGARTEN VALENTINE'S DAY CARDS
Valentine's Cards:
We would ask our parents to send in Valentine's cards for the entire class. Please look for instructions from each teacher as to how to address the cards (To and From information) for the students. Teachers will be sending out a separate note directly to the class or it will be sent through the room parent regarding how Valentine's cards should be addressed to each student in the class. Look for next week's Tic Tac Toe Sheet which will also have instructions on how to complete Valentine's Day cards for kindergarten.
All Valentine's cards should be delivered to the classroom by Wednesday, February 10th. Please have your child bring a bag to class with the Valentine's Day items in the bag. We will celebrate Valentine's Day in each classroom on Thursday, February 11th, 2016.
KINDERGARTEN FAITH CORNER
This week's Sunday Gospel will address the story of Jesus' catch of fish and how this one act of kindness prompts Jesus' new friends to go out and gather people into God's family. Jesus' message is about love, friendship and trust.
Mercy Challenge- In keeping with the spirit of the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy, we encourage our parents to think about the following Works of Mercy during the upcoming week:
Corporal Work of Mercy:
- Give drink to the thirsty
Spiritual Work of Mercy:
- Instruct the ignorant (to share knowledge)
CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION IN KINDERGARTEN!
Please contact any of the kindergarten teachers should you choose to bring in an item or food dish that would represent your family's way of celebrating Chinese New Year. Due to food allergies in the grade, we ask that food items suggested for this celebration are cleared by the teaching staff no later than Wednesday, February 3rd. We are excited to share this holiday with our families and look forward to learning new things about Chinese New Year!
