Dear Parents / Carers,
This week I have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our parents and others connected with school who have donated books through the Friends Amazon wishlist. We have so far received 53 books for our library and I know there are more on the way. If you would normally have attended our Summer or Christmas fairs, please do consider donating a book instead as our library books desperately need updating and this is a good non-contact way to do it. Thanks go out also to the Friends of Kirk Fenton for organising the list for us from the staff wish lists!
We have been delighted to have Mrs Bembridge return to school to prepare for her official return next week. Mrs Bembridge will be working with identified children in Key Stage 2 on specific catch up interventions for the next two terms.
Finally, we still have some children in school with no coat or wellies. With the weather now chilly and the field very wet and muddy, it is essential that the children are warm and have dry feet so please ensure that your child has these items in school. Please let me know if this is a struggle financially as we may be able to help in individual cases.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Karen Williams

This week would have been the Annual Christmas Fair, which sadly cannot happen, this fair is one of our biggest fundraisers for the school thanks to all those who attend and buy raffle tickets. The monies from these fairs go towards items such as books, play equipment, laptops, and other class specific items. Last year we were able to gift each class £200 to spend on extracurricular items as they wished. Unfortunately, without our big fundraisers we are unable to do this year, and so therefore ask you to support the school with our ‘Buy a Book’ initiative.
We are as always overwhelmed by the support shown towards the school especially at these difficult times, and thank all those who have shared our Facebook posts and flyer further afield.
Please keep doing so, keep sharing and let’s get the School their Christmas wish. Below are a couple of the books the school have prioritised.

Flu Immunisation Survey
The Childhood Immunisation Team have set up a QR code system (found on the information emailed out) and a web link to gain feedback following our visit to your school to administer the flu vaccination. Please would you access this and assist your child/children to answer the short survey on their experience of their vaccination with our nurses. It is a very short survey and should only take a couple of minutes to complete. The questions are aimed at primary school and year 7 children and they should be able to answer them quite confidently themselves. Younger children may need more support from a parent/carer.
We hope to gain more of an understanding of the children’s experience of their flu vaccination in school and use this to improve our service for next year.

Both the QR code and the web link take you to the same survey.
Yours sincerely,
Childhood Immunisation Team
