Updates and Reminders

Eastview Elementary School - November 13, 2015

Friends,

The presentation at the board meeting last Tuesday evening went really well. Thank you Mrs. Becker, Mrs. Bryant, Mrs. Crowe, Mrs. Burgeson, and Mrs. Myers for all of your work in bringing this Global Read Aloud experience to our kiddos and for sharing that with our school board. I heard a lot of positive feedback from board members and our administrative team.

Reminder

Please remember to let both Brenda, and I know if you are going to be out for a sick or personal day. Please do not just put this in Aesop without letting us both know (even if you do not require a sub). An email to both of us is fine.

If you know you are going to be out in advance, I would like for Brenda to put the day in Aesop. This is especially helpful as we approach the winter months and sub coverage becomes more difficult. Most of you always remember to this, and I appreciate the courtesy.

To Do

  • Continue to check Lexia and Dreambox usage and make adjustments so kiddos can reach their weekly goals. Please make sure you are logging into your account at least once per week to see what your kiddos are learning.

Central Perk

  • Please continue to check "Eastview Central Perk" each week (http://eastviewcentralperk.blogspot.com/). Joy has some information about our young authors conference posted. I know that she is working with our primary grades on some activities to prepare our kiddos for Kim Norman's visit.

PBIS Note - November focus: Be Proud

With the number of counselors meeting with kiddos during our lunch periods, I would like to avoid having students use their blue tickets to purchase "lunch in the conference room" on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We simply do not have the space. The other days should work fine, just send Brenda an email in advance, so to avoid conflicts.

PTO News

The PTO agreed to donate money to replace 3 of our EnoBoards with Smartboards. We are going to purchase the rest of the boards, which means that after Christmas break all of our general education classrooms will be equipped with Smartboards! Thank you all for promoting this fundraiser and using this technology so well!
