Sexism in today's relationships is a major problem and can sometimes leading to abuse. It's an issue for today's families because it can impact the way males and females are perceived in their family. For example, men aren't taught to aspire to marriage like women are, so why should they respect them while they aren't married? Examples of this are that up to three million girls in the UK experience rape, domestic abuse, stalking, or other violent acts. Another example is that 1 and 3 girls receive unwanted sexual touching at school. This could cause a long-term effect on girls making them feel like they're suppose be here for that purpose, so when it comes to the actual abusive they see it as love.

Sexism can affect teens in more ways than adults. This can happen because they're inexperienced in relationships. In an article, written by Jamshid Ghazi Askar, "Social Media's Impact on Teen Romance, Sexism Generates Controversy", it mentions how the rate of U.S. teen pregnancy is declining because teens feel that sex is against their "morals or values". However, in my opinion, I feel that the real issue is that when girls have sex they are referred to as a "whore" or "slut". Ways to help this issue is to try and talk about the abuse or
