Dear Graham Families,
Fall is officially here! These cooler temperatures arrived quickly, but represent the start of some exciting and fun months ahead. I hope you and your families are able to enjoy many of the exciting Naperville events and activities that we have coming in the months ahead. On the local level, our classrooms had some really great things happen this week that I would love to share with you all.
In Ms. Rendek's class, students who are wanting to either wake up their bodies or calm their bodies down for learning, have begun to implement short 15 minute yoga sessions into the start of their day. Ms. J, who recently started as a Teaching Assistant in the classroom, and actively practices Yoga, led sessions this past week.
And in the LMC this week, Mrs. Shiles held her first birthday book fair of the school year. Participating students who had September birthdays selected a book to donate, got their picture taken, and received a crown, button, and goodie bag.
Lastly, I would like to thank all the families that participated in the Falcon Fundraiser, and especially the PTA members for their incredible work in making the event a success. Graham could not do what it does without the participation of you all and we remain very grateful for your support.
Have a great weekend!
Ms. Walton
Bus Safety Reminders
Thank you for helping maintain a safe and sound environment for our students! Following correct bus drop-off and pick-up procedures will help ensure a safe entrance and exit for all Graham students:
- School buses use the front driveway for loading and unloading. Cars are not permitted in the circle drive until all buses have arrived in the morning or have left in the afternoon.
- Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate that the bus has stopped, and that children are getting on or off. Motorists must stop their cars and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop sign is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before driving again.
- Be alert, and drive cautiously. Despite warnings, children still may dart into the street with out looking for traffic.
Picture Day | This Monday
A friendly reminder that this coming Monday, September 24th is picture day!
Please make sure that your student has all payment and order forms with them when they arrive at school. For those that will be missing picture day, makeups are tentatively scheduled for November 9, 2021.
Health Services Reminder
Please remember that for all New and Kindergarten students, the required State of Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination and Immunization forms must be submitted prior to Friday, October 15, 2021. If you have questions or need assistance regarding getting or submitting these documents, please contact Nurse Randi Kleffman or Health Aid Lisa Finelli.
IPPC Coat Drive:
The IPPC is hosting its annual coat drive through the end of September. There will be a collection bin located in the front entry hallway at Graham from September 20th - October 1st.
They are collecting new or gently used, clean coats of all sizes (infant through adult plus size), in addition to other winter accessories (boots, hats, coats, scarves, snow pants, etc.). The winter items will be distributed to families in need within our district in early October. Please make sure zippers are in good working condition.
