Adapted Community Recreation
Columbia Parks and Recreation offers adapted recreation programs (Adapted Community Recreation), located at Stuart Parker Housing Development (formerly Paquin Tower), and is designed for individuals with special needs. The program is open to the community. Also offered, is Adapted Sports housed at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC). If you wish to participate in any Parks and Recreation activity, yet feel you may need some special accommodation, please call the office.

Adapted Sports
The City of Columbia offers numerous sports to individuals with special needs. Competitions are through Special Olympics, however, competing is not required for participation. When you register, please be sure that your athlete has a current physical and release form. New participants must schedule a New Athlete Meeting prior to participation. To schedule a new athlete meeting, contact Jessica Sida.

Here are some of the happenings in February 2017:
El Jimador
Join us for an early lunch on February 7 at 10:30 am for some Mexican food. Please bring money for lunch and make sure your Rec Card is current.
Make your own Valentine's Day cards
Come down and learn how to make Valentines for your someone special, or just hang out on Feb. 10 at 12 pm. Supplies will be provided with a $2.00 studio fee.
5 Below
We're headed to Jefferson City to shop at 5 Below on Feb. 11 at 9:30 am. Trip fee is $3.00 and a current Rec Card is needed.
Pretty Pancakes
Breakfast will be served on February 14 at 9 am. Pretty pancakes will be $2.00/plate.
Dance at the ARC
Join us at the ARC for a fun night of great music and lots of dancing on February 17 at 6:30 pm. Snacks will be provided. Cost is $5.00 at the door and is located at 1701 W. Ash St. Columbia, MO 65203.
Saturday Ceramics
The art room will be open on February 18, 12 pm-3 pm for arts and crafts.
Adapted Bell Choir
Learn how to play the melody chimes on Feb. 20 at 3:30 pm. We'll meet in the lobby of Paquin Tower.
DIY Kinetic Sand
Learn to make kinetic sand to use as a stress reliever or something fun to play with on Feb. 21 at 2 pm. Supplies will be provided with a $2.00 studio fee.
Attention all Gardeners!
Garden sign ups: we'll start signing up for garden beds on Feb. 1. Please make sure you have cleaned out your bed from last season and make sure your Recreation Card is up to date.
Happy Hour Fitness (HHF)
Happy Hour Fitness is a small group that meets Monday through Friday at 3 pm to be more active. Fridays are chair yoga days the other days are open to suggestion!
Unofficial Paquin Movie Group
The movie group will meet in the lobby of Paquin every Tuesday evening at 6 pm. Movies shown will be voted on the week before and popcorn will be provided.

- Wednesdays: 11 am-4 pm
- Thursdays: 11 am-4 pm
- Fridays: 11 am-4 pm
