TCPS Book Swap
Trillium Creek’s Book Swap is coming soon!
We are excited to announce that the library will be hosting our 3rd annual Book Swap for students on May 28th and 29th. If your family is ready to part with any books, we will happily collect those books from you to place in our Book Swap. We ask that books be in good condition, and appropriate for grade levels K – 5. Each student will have an opportunity to browse and select a book to take home on their teacher's assigned day. Book Swap collection boxes are set up in the library (near the circulation desk) and students may place books in the boxes before or after school - starting now until May 24th. We are grateful for your donations to kick off a fun summer of reading!

Hoot ’n’ Scoot
Our annual Hoot ’n’ Scoot was a success despite the cold and a few rain drops. Our students ran or walked their little hearts out last Friday, May 17th. Thank you to families and friends who donated to our students. We raised over $21,000! That money goes directly back to our students’ programs, equipment, materials, field trips, classrooms, and anything else our students and staff need! It will also go towards the cleaning and expansion of the forest trails where our students will be able to have outdoor learning and playing! We will still accept any donations and prizes will be given out until we run out!
Thank you also to our Hoot ’n’ Scoot team, Jennifer Hill and Jessica Horey, and our sponsorship chair, Terri Wheeler. They worked tirelessly for weeks to make this event successful! And without our volunteers we would not have been able to do it! Thank you to everyone who came out and spent their time supporting our kids, some even took the first and last shifts of the day! We appreciate our volunteers!!

Last PTA Meeting Of The School Year!
Join us for our final General PTA Meeting of the school year! Wednesday, May 29th at 9am in the Staff Lunchroom. We will be voting in the 2019-2020 Board members, which means we will be saying good-bye to our outgoing Board members. Please come and tell them how much you appreciate what they have done for our students. It’s also a chance to say farewell to Principal Mangan. Hope you can join us!
IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER REMINDER
Are you interested in volunteering in end-of-year events? If you are, please make sure you're signed up in our HelpCounter system first. We appreciate all of our community volunteers, but only those who have been approved can do so.
Last year, the district launched an updated process for volunteer registration and sign-in to improve safety and security for students. The HelpCounter system includes an approval process and helps staff monitor exactly who is working in WLWV schools.
Interested volunteers can register by visiting the district website. Simply click ‘Start’ to fill out your application, which includes a background check. The first time that volunteers sign-in to volunteer at any WLWV school they will be prompted to accept a Volunteer Agreement. Volunteers must also re-register every three years, or when volunteering at a new school.
Volunteering in WLWV schools is an extremely rewarding experience. Your time is greatly appreciated by both staff and students!
