Eighth graders will then visit Century on either Thursday March 9th or Friday March 10th to enter their course requests into StudentVue, turn in their forecasting sheets, get a tour of the school led by high school students, and participate in a student panel where they can ask current Century students questions about high school.

Synopsis: Singin' in the Rain “pours” down delight, capturing the waning days of the silent screen era as they give way to new-fangled “talkies.” With the premiere of The Jazz Singer making Hollywood frantic, movie studios are forced to suddenly change all the movie-making rules at once, to accommodate sound. In doing so, they leave silent pictures -- and some of their stars -- behind. When Monumental Studios turns the silent film The Dueling Cavalier into The Dancing Cavalier, a musical picture, in order to stay relevant, they are faced with a problem: their star, Lina Lamont can’t sing, and can’t even really talk. Lina’s voice sounds something like nails on a chalkboard. Enter Kathy Selden, an aspiring actress whose dulcet tones are able to cover Lina Lamont’s -- calling into question what it means to act, how credit is distributed, and what it means to get a fair shake in the movie business.
Activities:
Our annual BRIDGES week is coming up March 13 - 17. This stands for building relationships, including diversity, and gaining extra support. The goal is to empower students and to also provide them with necessary mental health resources.
We will have the performing arts assembly on Monday of this week and finish with our voices assembly on Friday where students will do some bonding activities and hear anonymous stories of how their peers have overcome negativity on social media.
The days are called Myself Monday, Togetherness Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday, Therapeutic Thursday, and Friendly Friday.
Athletics:
Spring sports are underway and contests begin next week. Please make sure that you are registered on Family ID. You cannot participate if you are not registered, and you must have a valid OSAA Physical on file (every 2 years). Track & Field, Tennis, Gold and Lacrosse are still accepting athletes.
