March 8, 2023 - NEWSLETTER
Hello Centerview Families,
As a reminder, there is no school for students on Friday, March 10 through Monday, March 20. Centerview staff will be ready for our students’ arrival back at school on Tuesday, March 21.
We are looking forward to staff time together on March 10 with a focus on assessment, reporting and design. In addition, prior to students’ arrival back, staff will be engaged in professional learning on Monday, March 20. These anchors surrounding spring break are pivotal to our success as we ready ourselves for the next 12 weeks working with and for students.
Following our return from spring break, report cards will be available through Campus Parent Portal on Thursday, March 23.
Enjoy your spring break. Hopefully, we actually have weather that brings sunshine and warmth.
Take care,
Mike

Fourth graders take on the tapir
Lions, tigers and tapirs, oh my! The annual Minnesota Zoo Enrichment Design Competition challenges students to research and design a prototype that will help solve a current problem for zookeepers. This year, the chosen animal is likely unfamiliar to most – the “tapir” from Malaysia.
The fact that not many people know about the tapir is ultimately what set fourth graders in the gifted services program at Park Terrace, Centerview and Woodcrest Spanish Immersion on this design quest. Read the full story about the Woodcrest team that is moving forward in the competition and view photos of student designs.
Sledding!
During Win time, our 4th graders took a sledding field trip to the hill across the street. Nothing better than fresh snow!
