Each Friday, we record and share the morning announcements in this newsletter. During these announcements, we:


  • Highlight and give a Shout out to a Virtual Classroom Grade Level
  • Share highlights and or events for the upcoming week
  • Share birthdays of face to face and virtual students
  • Announce Bee Buck Winners for virtual and face to face

Assessment Reports Coming Soon

The recent snow days have delayed the original timeline for sending home assessment reports but MAP scores, 3rd-grade AIR test results, and RIMPs will be sent home next week. Face to Face families will receive the reports in your child's backpack and reports for Virtual Student will arrive through the mail.

Last Call for Symmes Players 2021!

Any Symmes 3rd or 4th-grade student who would like to participate in Symmes Players this year needs to register by TONIGHT, Friday, February 19. Go to https://www.sycamoreschools.org/Page/2926 to read more about the program and to access the registration form. Rehearsals start on March 2, and the performances will be on May 21 and 22.

Announcement of Optional Elementary Testing for Identification of Gifted Students

You may request that your child be tested on the InView Ability Test; the InView Ability Test is a paper-based ability test and takes approximately 2 hours to administer. In order to decrease disruption to your child's instruction, this optional testing opportunity will take place during the mornings of March 10 and 11 from 8:00 - 9:00 before the school day starts; this opportunity is for both in person and virtual learners. Students are required to attend both morning sessions in order to complete the assessment. If you wish to have your child participate in this round of testing, all requests must be made below by March 1, 2021. You may click here to register. This testing opportunity is optional for all students.

Please note it is the parents' responsibility to provide transportation to school on the mornings of testing. Students who are in person learners will stay at school and students who are virtual learners will need to be picked up by 9:05 from the home school. Since various common areas will be used for testing, we ask that parents leave after dropping off their child and plan to return at the predetermined time for pick up (parents can also choose to stay in the car in the parking lot, if that is easiest). The email address you use to sign your child up will be the email address used for any communication regarding this spring testing opportunity. Thank you!

Cost is $16 for a standard cover and $18.75 for a personalized cover. Enter the school code and register as a "New User" to purchase. Deadline to purchase is April 8th. Yearbooks will be delivered in May and limited copies will be available to purchase in person so order online today!

For all of the families that have been taking advantage of the free breakfast and lunches for ALL Sycamore schools and students this opportunity had been EXTENDED until the end of the 2020-21 school year!

Drop up/Pick up Reminders

Drop up/Pick up Reminders


If you drop off or pick up your student please remember the following:



  • Pull your car up to the car in front of you.
  • Turn off their car while you are waiting.
  • At pick up, flip your car tag to the white side once all your students are in the car. This is an easy way for the adults helping to know that you are ready to go!
  • At pick up, students will enter your car from the CENTER aisle and find their appropriate seat once in the car. Please DO NOT encourage your child to walk around the front (or back) of your car in order to get into your car.

*Please only have your child attend their grade level meet so we can more easily manage our numbers.


This is optional for students and is an additional time for us to stay connected. Your child's teacher will share the link to your grade level meeting with you.


We know that there will be some months that we will not be able to get together, but we look forward to seeing you all as often as possible!

Virtual Families - Ordering Curbside Meals for 2021


Reminder to all virtual families to continue to order meals for your virtual students for pick up every Wednesday. You will need to fill out the order form and choose which weeks you will pick up meals.


Please, only order for the weeks you can be there. We prepare enough meals for every family that orders each week, and when no one shows up, some parts of those meals will have to go to waste. ORDER VIRTUAL MEALS HERE
