SCHOOL NEWS
#ChooseQuail - Future Magnet Program Update
On Wednesday, March 29, at 6:00pm, Principal Rachael Neill will update the QH community about our Partial Magnet Proposal to be implemented for the school year 2018-2019. This proposal was developed with feedback from current and prospective parents, faculty, and staff. A leader from the National Paideia Center will be present to answer questions about this instructional element of our plan.
We anticipate presenting our partial magnet proposal to the CMS Board of Education later this year and welcome your input to ensure it meets the needs of our students and community. Please spread the word about this exciting development to your friends and neighbors, and any potential future Falcon families to help promote the future of QH!
Course Registration Process getting Started
Parents are encouraged to discuss the course registration options with their student, and contact Mrs. Nava with any questions. Mrs. Nava will also be available this Wednesday evening, following the Magnet Program Proposal information session, to answer any questions.

Your Input for 2018-19 CMS Academic Calendar
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Calendar Committee has developed two options for the 2018-2019 academic calendar. Now we are asking you to tell us which calendar you prefer. We’re also asking our employees to indicate a preference.
The calendar survey where you can indicate your choice opens today and will close on April 3 at 11:59 p.m. We will tally the results, which will be reviewed by Superintendent Ann Clark. She will make any changes that she thinks are needed based on employee and community feedback, then present a calendar recommendation to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. The Board will vote on the 2018-2019 calendar in May.
You can see Calendar A here and Calendar B here.
The calendar survey is here.
