HPL HIGHLIGHTS!

This fall Spence Elementary fifth graders are developing their leadership skills in a Leadership Boot Camp Pilot. Research has suggested consistently and deliberately supporting students to be engaged as co-leaders and co-learners is an essential requirement for successful school climate and student achievement.

HPL TRAIT OF THE MONTH

A growth mindset is a belief that intelligence can be developed. Students with a growth mindset understand they can get smarter through hard work, the use of effective strategies, and help from others when needed. It is contrasted with a fixed mindset: the belief that intelligence is a fixed trait that is set in stone at birth.
