WBSD Update

A weekly update from the West Bloomfield School District

January 10, 2020

Welcome back, Team WB! We hope you had a fun and relaxing Winter Break. We have a lot in store for 2020 and we are ready to hit the ground running as we close out the first semester of the 2019-20 school year.

Our district-wide United We Walk event is quickly approaching. The event allows the community to come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It will take place on Sunday, Jan. 19 at West Bloomfield High School, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

The event will include a short program, a walk down Orchard Lake Road, and conclude with engaging community service projects in the atrium of the high school. The United We Walk Committee needs your help. Canned goods (fruits, vegetables, etc.) are being collected and they will be donated to the Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac.

The committee is asking each school to collect canned goods to help support this effort. The deadline to bring in canned goods is next Thursday, Jan.16. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Jennifer Graham at Jennifer.Graham@wbsd.org.

Topics discussed will be how much does it really cost? How does the application process work? What should my child be doing to prepare for college? What is the FAFSA, EFC, NPC, & CSS? How do I find scholarships? How can West Bloomfield High School help me? It is not too soon to start thinking about college as scholarships and opportunities are out there for all ages.
