About Bacterial Meningitis
Everyone has an equal chance of getting Bacterial Meningitis, although there is more likely to be an outbreak in college dormitories and military barracks. Symptoms include headache, stiff neck, and fever. There are around 2600 cases each year, with only a 10% death rate.
Antibiotics that can be used include: Ceftriaxone (Rocefin), Meropenem, Cefotaxime (Claforan), Cefepime (Maxipime), Vancomycin, Ampicillin, Ceftazidime (Fortaz)
