Happy Holidays Crusader Nation
As the holiday season approaches we would like to take this time to reflect on the last calendar year. During this time, we have been faced with many challenges both in our classrooms and our community. We are so blessed to have such a dedicated and caring staff, who always continues to find a way forward for students and families. At a moment's notice, we redefined our educational system and continue to modify it on the fly. We know that it takes the entire community to make our school run efficiently. When other schools and districts have been forced to close, I am proud that our CMHS students and families have taken the necessary steps to ensure our buildings remain open. Our students have adapted to everchanging guidelines and continue to demonstrate resilience.
Carver is a special place and we are lucky to have such an amazing community that shares in our common mission.
Happy Holidays

HOLIDAY HALLWAYS AND CELEBRATIONS
The high school science hallway was decked out as the Polar express for the holiday season including students and teachers in their pajamas waiting for the Conductor (Mr. Ewell) to punch their tickets and wise hobo (Mr. Lyman) on the train. A lot of hard work was put in by the teachers and their interns to make it look this magical. We hope it brings you JOY.
The students of the Foreign Language Department hung their individualized Christmas stockings in the Department's fireplace.

MISTLETOE
Alex Wawrzyniak was the winner of the Comprehensive Health Holiday poem challenge.
Great job Alex!!!!
Morning breaks and voices sound
Insides bursting with excitement
Slippered feet stampede down the hall
To gather by the foot of the tinseled tree
Laughter emanates as they linger
Eager and anxious to begin the unwrapping
Tearing through ribbons and bows with squeals of joy
Oh how the spirit of gift giving prevails
Engulfing everyone with the feeling of love.

Art Projects
This project asked students to create an artwork that provides context in relation to a personal experience within the themes of identity, culture, bias, and privilege. Topics related to these themes reflect personal narrative and voice that explore life during a pandemic, academic experiences during COVID, portraits, childhood experiences, and interests held close to the heart. Utilizing the principle of Pattern as both a noun and verb in a unique and intentional way also helped aid in the creation of meaningful work with artisitic intentions as expressed below.

CARE PACKAGES FOR TROOPS
Mr. Tresca and Student Council organized its second annual military Care Packages fundraiser for a local military organization Helping Our Troops. Proudly, our school community was able to collect / donate enough items to assemble and donate 149 packages for our troops serving overseas. (More than doubling our total from last year (63)
A big thank you to the following people/ groups who helped make this event a huge success!
- To all the CMHS teachers and staff members, parents and students who donated and helped assemble the care packages
- To all our local businesses and organizations who donated a lot of items which includes:
- Shane Gives Thanks (donating a bunch of non perishables)
- Jersey Mike's Subs (purchasing / collecting items)
- Carver Fire Department (For hygiene products)
- Carver Smiles ( donated many toothbrushes, floss, tubes of toothpaste and magazines
- Local post offices (Halifax, Carver and Plympton) for ordering and donating all the Medium Priority Boxes used to pack the care packages
Students of Mrs. Chambers and Mrs. Calvo homerooms made 22 Care Packages for the troops.
The staff down in Crusader Corner donated enough items to complete 12 Care Packages for the Troops. Could there be an ice cream party in their future?
Care Packages for Troops
The Student Council has organized a school fundraiser to collect and assemble care packages for our military troops serving over the holidays. (Now through the next 3 weeks), ending on Friday, December 18.
Every (Period 1 teacher grades 8-12) and every Grade 6 and Grade 7 homeroom teacher will have a box in their room for collection of non perishable items to fill up their care package box. Our school goal is to assemble 100 care packages to donate to the nonprofit organization (Helping Our Troops).
Donations should be brought in by your son or daughter or you can donate at the main office. Click Here for the list of acceptable items you can donate
