Duveneck Connections Newsletter
December 9, 2022
Thank you for being a safe and stable presence in the lives of our students and dedicating yourself to their wellbeing. We know their many accomplishments are a testament to the involved families and the passionate teachers and staff at Duveneck School. We stand together to ensure excellence in our educational program.
As we enter 2023, let us renew our commitment to the education of our children and ensure that they are fully supported to end the 2022-2023 academic year with great success. Now is the time to recalibrate our efforts and forge ahead to build a stronger community, a brighter future and a better tomorrow.
We wish you a joyous, peaceful and safe Winter Break and look forward to your return on January 9, 2023.
Happy Winter Break!

Important Announcements From the PTA:
GET READY FOR THE HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE!
Our annual holiday toy drive is approaching! We would love your help by shopping for new, unwrapped toys and bringing them to school during the week of December 12th-16th. Toys will be collected in bins in front of the school. All donations will go to the East Palo Alto Police Department, which distributes toys to underserved families and their children every Christmas. Your toy donations will make a huge difference to these families. Gifts for children of all ages, from infants to teenagers, are needed. Gift cards to stores like Walmart, Target, Kohls, etc. are also appreciated. Please bring gift cards into the office so that they can be collected separately.
We'll also need several volunteers to help load the toys into the police truck after school on Friday, December 16th. Please sign up here.
Tickets on Sale Now for Duveneck's Ice Skating Parties!
Don't miss the return of this long-standing Duveneck tradition! Please join us for a fun night for the entire family at the Winter Lodge in midtown Palo Alto.
Grades TK-2: Wednesday, January 18th, 5:30-7:30pm
Grades 3-5: Wednesday, January 25th, 5:30-7:30pm
(If you have kids in both upper and lower classes, feel free to join us for both nights or choose one night out of the two.)
Students and their families are welcome to skate and enjoy a pizza dinner. Skating (and dining) are not mandatory. You are welcome to simply come hang out. This event is an especially great way for new families to get to know other members of our community. If you’re skating, it is highly recommended that you bring helmets and gloves! Please find Winter Lodge’s COVID policies here.
