November7, 2019 PBIS theme - Cooperation

Greetings North Plains Families!

A short but good week! We started with the PBIS assembly to honor kids that stood out with honest behavior last month. We had fun with a Family Feud game to introduce Cooperation, our theme for November! We also announced the top Fund Run money makers:

Kindergarten - Tyler Stephenson (Also tied for top over all)

First Grade - Jack Mulconery (Also tied for top over all)

Second Grade - Carson Conrad

Third Grade - Noah Willams

Fourth Grade - Alex Lopez

Fifth Grade - Katie Williams

Sixth Grade - Molly Wolfe

Great job all!

Tuesday night at the PTO meeting, the Chamber of Commerce President Russ Sheldon presented us with a check for $3000.00 to do the library tech renovation! Thank you again to the Chamber Events Committee for committing more than 1/2 of the profits from Casino Night to this endeavor! Now I am looking for a group of people to help me plan to make this happen! I'd like to have a meeting to talk about this in Dec. if possible. I'll let you know the date and time soon!

The Holiday Gift Shop is coming up soon! Our amazing PTO sponsors this event each year where students get to choose a gift for 2 adults of their choice, wrap them, and take them home for FREE! If you have items you would like to donate (please be thoughtful about these and make sure they are things other adults would appreciate) that are between 1-5 dollars, please bring them to the school by Dec. 11. There will be a bin in the main hallway to put them in. Thank you in advance!

Also, the canned food drive is on as well! Please send non-perishable foods with your son or daughter to donate to the Oregon Food Bank.

Remember that Mrs. Clayton and I are hosting 2 parent sessions tonight, one at 5 and ont at 5:30. We'll be going over some info on College and Career readiness, then have time for any questions you may have. Last night we had some parents asking about the new sexual heath curriculum and we had some great conversations. We would love to have you come and get your questions answered as well.

I would really like to get some feedback from you regarding your school experience. If you could possibly respond to this brief survey in the next few days I would greatly appreciate it! I'm hoping you will have the right permissions to get into it, but if not, just request permission and I will respond as soon as I see it. Thank you in advance!

Reminder: Little Dribblers is coming up in January! This is a really fun, non competitive, basketball experience for kids grads K-4 on Saturdays at Evergreen. See the flyer attached to the email. I'll be there every week with my kinder grandson!

Remember there is no school on Monday to honor our Veterans. I hope you have a great weekend!
