Panther Notes
Week of March 9-13
Snow Make Up Days Announced
March 23-25 and Friday, April 17 are now full school days for students. The district will communicate staff guidelines and expectations for the make-up days this week. I will continue to keep you informed.
Please review the 2/23 Leadership Team minutes for details about snow make up activities. If you have questions about snow make up time, see Dr. B.
Transfer Requests
The transfer window is open for employees. In addition to completing the online transfer request, current employees must apply through the applitrack system. Information is posted on the Intranet about the process. If you have questions you can see, feel free to see Dr. B.
Spirit Week & Food Drive
The Student Council is holding a Spirit Week next week in combination with a Food Drive. Monday is Blackout Day--Wear all Black and show your Panther Pride.
The Food Drive will support a Backpack Buddy Program for the remainder of the school year for students in need at Davis Drive Middle. To end the week, we will hold the "Zero Gravity" Dance on Friday, 3/13 from 6-8 in the DDMS gym. Concessions will be sold.
Thank you for your support of the DDMS community!
Testing Updates
Thank you all for your cooperation allowing ACCESS and CDM testing to be a priority after missing so many days of school. CDM testing is complete and ACCESS testing will be done on Tuesday.
The third round of Case 21 testing will be held on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18. The district has suggested we stay on schedule for this testing even after missing so many days of school. The thought process behind this is that the results of the Case 21 tests will show strengths and weaknesses allowing for time to be spent working on weaknesses. On Tuesday, we will test 6th grade Language Arts and 7th and 8th grade math. Wednesday, will be 6th grade math and 7th and 8th grade Language Arts.
Again we will operate on a 2 hour delay schedule. The majority of the test sessions will be the same as last time around. Classroom space and cross graded students will cause some rearranging.
Students will need calculators for the math test. Please secure calculators as done in January. Let Debbie Farrell know if you have any issues, questions, or concerns.
Severe Weather Drill this Week
We will conduct our Severe Weather Drill on Wednesday, March 11 at 8:30 am.
