MSN 7/8th Grade Choir

Time to Sign up for Next year! Due by April 11, 2016

Why Choir?

If you like to sing, join the Hawthorn Middle School Chorus! As a chorus member you will:

  • Develop good singing technique.

  • Learn to read music and sing in harmony.

  • Perform in concerts throughout the school year.

  • Have fun while working toward a common goal!

You are getting this information because your Child Expressed an Interest in joining Choir for next year.

We work together!

Working together and singing every day is just part of what we do! It's part of being a team and in a respectful environment where we encourage each other to do the best that we can do!
Choir is part of the Curriculum and does not replace the Related Arts Rotations. There is a $50.00 fee for Chorus payable through the District Office. No money is due at this time. Additional funds will be needed for the Rental of Choir Uniforms for the girls. Boys will need Black Pants, Black Shoes, Black Socks, Black tie and a White Collar Button Down Shirt.

If financial resources are an issue, please let Ms. O'Connor know.

Please click on the Google Document for the Information Form to return to the Homeroom teacher by Monday, April 11th. If you are unable to access this form, do not hesitate to let me know. It would be a privilege to teach your son/daughter! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Performances

We perform for the school and the community. We participate in Two High School Choral Festivals, a Combined Fall Concert with Hawthorn Middle South and our Elementary Schools, and a Spring Concert. We also participate with Band and Orchestra in our annual field trip. This year, we are taking about 200 students to the Lyric Opera to see "The King and I." Choir is just more than singing-it's about creating lasting musical memories!
