Fall Book Fair Summary
The fall book fair was very successful! We raised $1100 that will be used to support the library program. Much of the success was due to fantastic volunteers who donated their time to help in the fair. We cannot thank you enough for your help. The online fair will continue until Nov. 26 so if you would still like to shop feel free to visit our online fair at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/martinwalker.

Author of the Month
In an effort to help students find a appropriate book we are spotlighting a different author each month. Last month we studied about Chris Van Allsburg, the author of the Caldecott winning books: Jumanji and The Polar Express. We all enjoyed reading his book: The Widow's Broom a good slightly scary story perfect for Halloween. The book fair has put us a little behind but our next author is Eve Bunting. Eve has been writing for over 50 years and has written many picture and chapter books. We are enjoying her Thanksgiving title: A Turkey for Thanksgiving. Our authors are highlighted on a bulletin board in the cafeteria.
