Hello LVES families! Our next campus-wide Project Vinátta activity will be The Great Kindness Challenge! The Great Kindness Challenge is a global initiative that can help improve school climate and increase student engagement. Students will be given a list of acts of kindness they will be challenged to complete during the week of January 25-29. The checklists will be given to all classes by the end of next week. The acts of kindness can be done at home and at school, so please encourage your child to complete as many as they can! Students can turn in completed checklists to their teachers, or me, as they finish them (on the honor system), and the last day to turn in completed checklists will be February 5. Studies show that kindness matters--not only does it improve our climate and communities, but this simple concept and character trait can enhance our minds and bodies, too. A study conducted by Dartmouth College showed that acts of kindness can improve peer relations, lowers anxiety, and can enhance concentration. I look forward to seeing and hearing about all the kind acts our students perform, and feel free to email me pictures of your child doing something kind! Thank you! ¡Gracias!
