Career Technical Education
November is National Career Development Month and the counseling department is excited to work with students to build their knowledge of career options. Throughout this month the counselors will be conducting presentations with our 7th grade students to walk them through their first Xello activity!
Xello is the Hart District’s College and Career Readiness program that students will utilize throughout their 7th-12th grade years. This program will help students learn more about themselves and possible career paths they may not have previously considered. Students can access their Xello account through their Hart District Google Apps menu. We encourage students and their parents/guardians to look through the results from the first activity once it has been administered, which is the “Matchmaker”!
Counselors will be walking 8th graders through their first Xello activity after we return from winter break. Last month the counselors walked students through a presentation that contained information on 8th grade, high school class placement and beyond! This presentation can be found on the counseling website under “Current Information”. Click HERE to be brought to the counseling site.
Students interested in coding and artificial intelligence are encouraged to look into the AI Winter Camp opportunity! This is a week-long virtual experience in which students will learn all about artificial intelligence. While the camp is NOT free, there are scholarship opportunities available. Scholarships are awarded based on the application that students submit. For more information, please click HERE.
The National Career Development Association is also hosting its annual Poetry & Art Contest. More information can be found by clicking on the brochure HERE.
