Note from Ms. Moulton
I hope that you are all doing well during this long Memorial Day weekend.
Morning Announcements
Morning Announcements have been such a nice way to start the day together. If you haven't joined us yet, I hope you might consider it. The link can be found below.
Student Belongings Pick-Up
Teachers are in the process of packing classrooms and bags of student belongings. A thank you to Target in Watertown for donating bags for us to use for packing. Given the social distancing needs that school packing requires, teachers will need another couple of weeks to bundle belongings. We will be scheduling time for families to pick things up at school during the week of June 8th. At this time, we also ask that all materials belonging to the school (library books, classroom items, etc.) be returned to school. Chromebooks will NOT be collected until the last day of school - June 16th.
End of Year Happenings
The last day of school will be celebrated with community meetings for every class on Tuesday, June 16th. We will not be holding class meetings on June 11, 12, and 15th as teachers will be holding optional "Celebration Meetings" with students and families. These will be short, 10 minute meetings and are meant to provide a sense of personal closure on this year.
Stay tuned for more fun ways that we will be celebrating the year AND our fifth graders as they prepare to move to middle school!
Stay well, continue to be kind to yourselves, and please tell your children that we miss them and say hello. As always, thank you for your support of our fantastic school!
Erin Moulton

It has been wonderful seeing so many students and families for Morning Announcements each morning at 8:45, right before classes begin. Each day we celebrate birthdays, join in reciting the Paws Promise, and do some sort of fun activity together. To join, simply log in using the Zoom link below

Virtual MusicFest!
We might not have been able to have our Band-A-Rama or MusicFest celebration this year, but we can still share our music with the community! The Watertown Public Schools Fine, Applied and Performing Arts department is teaming up with Friends of Watertown Music for a Virtual MusicFest that will serve as a wonderful way for students and local musicians to connect with our community through the power of music.
Start prepping your favorite piece and then use this form to submit a video so you can be a part of Virtual MusicFest! Videos will be posted on our soon to be created Virtual MusicFest webpage with a launch date in early June.
You will need a gmail account to access this form. If you do not have a gmail address and are unable to easily acquire one, please send an email to Ms. Slesinger at magen.slesinger@watertown.k12.ma.us and we will find an alternative way to join Virtual MusicFest.
Submission Deadline: May 27th

WHS Student Created Read Aloud Website
The Class of 2022 has organized an opportunity for high school students to read picture books to elementary school students during this unusual time. Our attempt is to help bring a sense of community among all students in Watertown, while away from school and having to learn remotely. The website currently has several submissions from high school students but will be updated regularly, as the high school students continue to submit their readings. We have also included an opportunity for students and the family to submit book requests and we will do our best to read all requests.
