Magnets!
What are magnets?
Magnets are objects that create a magnetic field. Only a few kinds of metals will attract a magnet. An example is iron or steel.
What are poles?
All magnets have 2 poles. They are called the North Pole and the South Pole. Think about the Earth. The North Pole is at the opposite end of the Earth than the South Pole. Opposite poles attract each other. That means the North Pole and the South Pole will "stick" together. The same pole with repel, or push away.
Did you know?
You can make a magnet! All you need is a magnet and a nail. Strike the nail against the magnet 5-6 times. Now try to pick up a paperclip. It will attract the paperclip!
