Story Time with Linden
Hello, Linden Family!
I hope this email finds you healthy and safe. I want to thank you for your support as we are all learning to balance family, distance learning, and working from home. While we are faced with this challenge in our world, I urge you to continue to find the "silver lining" in all of this - We are able to spend quality time with family, slow down from the daily hustle and bustle of schedules, and enjoy the precious gifts life has to offer that we don't take advantage of often enough.
As you make time to participate safely in family activities, I would like to invite you to join "Story Time with Linden." To view the first story, please click here. You can use this link each to access the new read-aloud of the day.
I hope you are all able to take a few minutes to relax and enjoy. And remember, we're never too old to enjoy a nice children's book!
Wishing you all good health and safety! I miss you all!
Sincerely,
Mike TestaniLinden Family Sharing the Love
The Strigl family would like to share an initiative to get messages of love and caring to members of our community in nursing home facilities.
The Box of Love has been placed at the Main entrance at Linden for the purpose of sharing some community love. Students, parents, and community members are encouraged to come by and drop letters/ drawings and well wishes in that box to then be delivered to these facilities
around town.
This initiative has been approved by the Doylestown Health Department.
Please help brighten up our dear senior citizens who are unable to see their loved ones during these rough times.
A Message From Dr. Graz & Dr. McIntyre
Linden Families,
You may have missed the opportunity to sign up for the Girl & Grown Up Book Club, but this would be the perfect time to join in! The link below explains a bit about the book club.
Families can use this time to read these books together and discuss at home. Remember, while these books are centered around girl experiences, people of all genders would benefit from reading it!

PSSA Testing Cancelled
The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) announced the cancellation of all PSSA testing and Keystone exams for the 2019-20 school year as a result of COVID-19. This includes the Pennsylvania Alternate System of Assessment (PASA).
“Our school communities are operating within unprecedented conditions,” said Secretary of Education Pedro A. Rivera. “Schools are making extraordinary efforts to remain connected to students and families, to provide food service and to put appropriate systems in place to continue student learning. Assessments should not be the focus of school leaders right now.
“To be clear, all assessments are cancelled for this year,” he added. “The department will submit the requisite waivers to the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), but no schools in the Commonwealth will be administering these tests this year.”
Important Food Assistance Program Updates
Grab and Go Free Lunch Program
During the district-wide closure associated with COVID-19, the Central Bucks School District has put the following procedures into place in order to provide lunch to those students enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program.
If you and your family are in need, please reach out. Applications for free and reduced lunch can be found online here. We are processing applications daily. If you have questions about your application, or the process of application, please contact Renee Ziccardi, rziccardi@cbsd.org.
In order to better serve our families in need of food assistance during the closure, several changes are being made to the district's food assistance program beginning on Monday, March 23.
- Distribution will take place on Mondays and Thursdays, with more than one meal (three meals on Mondays and two on Thursdays) provided at each pickup so that families need only visit their pickup site twice per week. Distribution takes place between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
- Barclay Elementary School will continue daily distributions.
- Pickups will take place at the following locations:
- CB East High School
- CB South High School
- CB West High School
- Barclay Elementary School
- Bridge Valley Elementary School
- Butler Elementary School
- Doyle Elementary School
- Kutz Elementary School
- Tohickon Middle School
- Titus Elementary School
- Warwick Elementary School
- Arbor Estates Community (1081 N Easton Ave, Doylestown)
Visit this page for addresses and directions to school locations: https://www.cbsd.org/Page/2952.
The following procedures are important:
- The student(s) enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch Program must be present at pickup.
- Alternative meal options will be available for those students with allergies, as necessary.
If you have any questions, or if this schedule makes it difficult for your family to pick up meals and you need alternate pickup options, please send email to Angela Linch at alinch@cbsd.org.

Experimenting at Home
1. Pour some water onto a plate
2. Add food coloring and stir
3. Add some pepper (it should float)

5. Put dipped finger into the water and watch what happens!
They enjoyed it and it also helps remind us all why washing hands is so important!
