Our priorities in planning will be: quality numeracy and literacy instruction at the elementary level (with the intent of providing single-graded instruction at each level); offering single-graded core course instruction with a variety of supplementary courses at the junior high level : offering essential courses for graduation offered as teacher taught courses with a variety of supplementary courses aimed at preparation for post secondary pursuits and workplace transitions.
March 13th to 17th is substitute teacher week! We would like to express our appreciation for all of the wonderful substitute teachers and support staff who fill-in at our school (sometimes on short notice) to help keep everything running smoothly and provide a great educational experience for our students.
Spring Break is coming up at the end of March from the 25th to April 2nd.
Please join us for the next School Council meeting on Wednesday, April 19th.

Student Verification forms
Hello BRSD families!
Students from across the world want to join us in Battle River School Division. Are you able to help welcome them?
We are seeking caring families to host students in their home during the 2023-2024 school year. International Student placements can range from one month to the full school year in duration, so you can choose an option that works for your family.
Right now, we have students who will be joining us from Germany, Belgium, Spain and other European countries, as well as from Asia and South America. Hosting an International Student can change their life for the better and will give your family the chance to learn more about other cultures and countries as well. Lifelong connections and friendships can be made.
There is a $700 per month stipend provided to help offset costs.
To find out more about the International Student Homestay Program, please contact Gail Rombough by email at homestay@brsd.ab.ca or by phone at 780-781-0615.
Thank you for considering this opportunity!
Message from BRACE
We would like to thank the BRACE shared students for working so hard to stay on track at the start of the semester. Accessing your courses daily, as well as checking emails is important to help stay on track! Please note that we are able to see your log in information in Moodle and how long you are working online each day - weekly reports are available for students and parents. Please email your teacher if you are interested in receiving this and you aren't already doing so.
Remember that your teachers at BRACE are available by phone, email and google meet. It is important you check in with your teacher(s) on a regular basis so that you can have the most success possible.
If you have any questions or concerns, you are welcome to reach out to Mrs. Swanson at 780 672-2205 or lswanson@brsd.ab.ca.
