Happy Saturday Warriors,
This is the last week of school before the Progress Report 4 grade report. We are seeing many students that are either not engaging in their classes, not completing work, not submitting their assignments and not doing any retesting for failing test grades. Parents, we need your support. With students working at home, we rely on you to help us keep your child engaged. It is extremely important that you regularly check their grades in Skyward and keep in contact with their teachers. We are getting close to the end of the semester and once those grades are posted, there is little we can do to help.
Thank you to those parents that completed the Learning Model Change form for the Term 3 grading period. We have 134 parents who elected to move from online to face to face and 22 parents who are moving their student from face to face to online. Our counselors and administrators are now working on a master schedule to accommodate the increased numbers on campus. Please listen to Dr. Dupre's message above, to hear his vision for the Term 3 grading period. This change in learning model will be effective January 7, 2021. If you did not complete the form, your child will remain in the learning model they are currently in and you will have another chance in February to select a change for the Term 4 grading period.
As you may have heard, there has been a change in the FBISD School Calendar. Please see the changes below. You will notice that students will return on Thursday, January 7, 2021 for Term 3. This is an extra day of vacation for students, while our teachers prepare for the new semester. You will also notice an additional week at Spring Break for students. However, we will be using this additional week for interventions, therefore, if you child is not performing and passing their classes, they may be required to attend school the week of March 22. More information will come later on this. This new calendar also moved our last day of school to Thursday, June 3, 2021. Please understand that your child will be required to be in school, either face to face or online until June 3.
Thank you very much for your support, understanding and flexibility as we work to provide the best learning environment during a pandemic. I understand that it is a stressful time and I appreciate your support. Thank you.

PBIS Tips for Parents
Positive Behavior Interventions and Support Tips for Parents:
A critical part of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is the setting of expectations so that children and adolescents know what is expected of them. Expectations help minimize confusion and promotes student ownership of behavior. Students have expectations to follow at school whether attending face-to-face or virtually. Setting expectations in the home provides students a sense of safety and security while lessening power struggles between parent and child. Expectations can be set for before school, after school and weekends. Working together as a family to identify those expectations also encourages student responsibility
