PONY NEWS DECEMBER 5TH
HELLO PONIES- A LITTLE TO SHARE ABOUT MR. THOMAS
I grew up in White Oak, TX a small town behind the pine curtain of North East Texas. After graduating high school I moved to Austin with some friends and started a band in the live music capital of the world. While performing music I realized I needed to make a career out of it. I enrolled at Texas State University in San Marcos and got my Bachelors in Music Education. Upon graduating I began teaching at Bedichek Middle School in Austin ISD where I taught middle school band for 5 years. When my Lara and I decided to get married and start a family we figured it would be nice to move closer to our family which brought us to Lewisville. After teaching percussion as a Paraprofessional in the Central Zone I decided to pursue full time teaching again which led me to Lewisville Elementary. Lara and I have one son, Elliot, who is one year old.
In addition to teaching I enjoy spending time with my wife and son. Last year I also performed with the Flower Mound Symphony Orchestra. In the rest of my spare time I am running in preparation for my 4th full marathon in February.
