Kings Manor Elementary, September 2021

--------------------------------------------------------

From the Principal:

KME Families,

It's hard to believe that it's already September and we are celebrating the first full month of school! Our staff and students are doing a phenomenal job so far this school year creating routines and procedures that will help all students be successful during the school day. We are starting to set our academic goals for the year and look forward to sharing those with you at our Open House. Thank you, parents, for following the guidelines of walking your children inside when they are tardy and for following our dismissal procedures. We have consistently completed afternoon dismissal at or before 3:30pm, which was our goal! We appreciate all of your support as we educate our #kmekoalas. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

KME Houses

Most of our new #kmekoalas have already had the opportunity to spin the wheel to be placed into a House. T-shirts have also been given to students who are new to KME. We will be sending home an order form soon for anyone who wants/needs to get a new shirt. House Days will be on Fridays this year. Students are encouraged to wear their House shirts, or dress in their House color, each Friday.

KME Book Fair

Our Fall Book Fair will take place on September 7th-10th. Students will be able to shop during their scheduled library time, or on another day of the week with teacher permission. Grandparents, parents, and families are invited to shop with us during our Grand Event on Thursday, September 9th from 3:30-5:30.

Diversity Talks

Here at KME, we love to celebrate the diverse cultures that make up our amazing campus. In the spirit of this, we are looking for students, community members, or parents who would like to share a piece of their culture with the students at KME. Specifically, read a story or a poem that recognizes the contributions of various groups/cultures that make up our school community. If you or your child are interested in creating a video in WeVideo (students have access to this through ClassLink), please complete this form and we will reach out to you. We look forward to featuring our own #kmekoalas when celebrating our diversity each month.
