Good to Great: Self Love
That brief positive phone call home you made to a parent...it added a plank to the bridge between school and home.
That extra five minutes you spent before school working on a math concept with one of your kiddos...they understand now, and it was reflected in their iReady growth.
That hands on science experiment you did last week...you developed the concept more fully, created a real world connection, and sparked a lifelong interest, maybe even a career, in science.
That time and energy and patience you have devoted to a child that no one has believe in before...it paid off this week.
The efforts you made to provide consistent communication with that child's mother, both negative and positive...it has built a bridge that no one thought would ever exist.
That dojo message you sent to a parent with their kiddos writing, telling them how much you care for their little one...it made that mama's day, it added another plank to the bridge, and it showed a precious 2nd grader how valued she is.
When you shared the pages of your favorite picture book with your students, you created a love of reading and a level of engagement with books that simply doesn't happen on a screen.
When you conducted yourself with grace in the face of adversity with one of your challenging students...you taught your children a life lesson that does not exist in a textbook.
When you gathered your children around you to start the day, shared with them a challenge your classroom is facing, and then asked for their help in solving it...you showed them that their voice is valued.
Everyone one of these things above happened at Fair Grove School last week. You do things every day that make an impact. Focus on the good. Focus on the positive. No matter your role in this school, YOU are here for a reason. YOU are growing the next generation. Don't sell yourself short. Don't ever forget all you do to make a difference in the world.
