Divergent

By Veronica Roth

Review

The book Divergent is an excellent read for character analysis. Veronica Roth really capture what it means to be different and how to shape conflict into something good. The character Tris is put through many challenges that form her into who she really is by the end of the book.

The book Divergent has a dystopian genre. It is set in a time in the future in a city that is divided into 5 factions. At the age of 16, the people are asked to choose a faction in which they feel is most like themselves. The protagonist, Tris, has to find herself and choose a different faction in which she believes she belongs in. But she faces a huge conflict at the aptitude tests. She finds out something about herself that could change her life forever.

Divergent is a book that hooks you in. While this book is wonderful to read, it has a few parts that aren’t the best. It briefly mentions sex and there is a lot of blood and death in it. Overall, the book is recommended anyone who doesn’t mind reading about blood and death.
