Counselor Corner
November
Core Essentials Values Character Traits
This month our Core Essentials word is CONTENTMENT. We will discuss how we can make the choice to see what we already have with new eyes- with happy, grateful eyes. Often times we think about the things we have or want, but it is so important to think of the things other than possessions that we have. Take time this month to be grateful for not only the things that make us happy, but the people and experiences that bring us joy as well.
Gifted and Talented
**DEADLINE NOVEMBER 30th**
Gifted and talented students are students who demonstrate significantly advanced abilities that give evidence of high performance in typical academic environments. They have unique educational needs that require educational experiences beyond those normally provided within the scope of the regular curriculum.Students may be referred for testing at any time. Students whose Parent Survey and Permission is received by the last school day in November will be included in the mid-year testing process.Students may test for the GT program only once a year. Testing will be administered ONLY if the student has not participated in screening testing during the current school year. Testing typically occurs in January and February during the spring semester.
**Kindergarten: all kinder students will be tested in the Spring semester. A parent survey does not need to be completed for them.
Please complete and return the Parent Survey (below) if you are interested in having your child screened in the Spring.
