Parents - T-shirts are in! They will be sorted over Thanksgiving break and delivered to the school for pick up on Monday, November 30. We apologize for the wait. Due to staffing shortages, schedules, quarantining, and coronavirus, we have not had the opportunity to prepare them. Greetings HSA-Waco friends and family,
As we look forward to a wonderful Thanksgiving break off, we wanted to make you aware of
some changes regarding meal distribution for Thanksgiving Break.
Harmony School of Innovation will not be having SSO meal distribution during the
Thanksgiving week of November 23 rd to November 27 th, 2020. To receive meals for these days,we will be giving a 7-day distribution package on Friday November 20 th, 2020 during our normal distribution hours between 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. SSO is a free meals program for all children ages 18 and under. Students under 21 who are currently enrolled in a school and are identified as mentally or physically disabled are also eligible. Free breakfast and lunch will be available daily for students attending classes at the school. Meal distribution is open to our students, their siblings, and the community.
For distance learners, meal boxes will be available for pick up at 1110 S Valley Mills Dr,
Beverly Hills, TX 76711 on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. and Fridays from 3:00 p.m. -
4:00 p.m.
For on campus learners, in addition to free breakfast and lunch on campus, they are also able to receive a weekend meals box that will be available for pick up at 1110 S Valley Mills Dr,
Beverly Hills, TX 76711 on Fridays from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Parents wishing to pick up a meal box without children present will need to present one of the
following to verify guardianship:
∙ Individual student report cards
∙ Attendance record from parent portal of a school website
∙ Birth certificate
∙ Official letter/email from facility or school listing children enrolled
∙ Other official ID cards (for example, IDs issued by a child care facility)

ELA-This week we will be working on story structure with our story of the week "If the Shoe Fits". We will be learning how to form compound sentences using commas and conjunctions. We will be taking our end of unit 4 CBA test! Please remind students to read for at least 20 minutes each day! -Ms. Brown
2A/2C ELA- This week we are learning how to code/blend words with the long o patterns oa and ow. We will be reading 3 different stories and completing a graphic organizer for each. For writing, we are learning how/when to use quotation marks and commas in quotation marks. Our comprehension quiz will be on the story "Going Places," and we will be taking the weekly assessment on Friday! Keep in mind QUIZZES/ASSESSMENTS are a big part of the overall grade for ELA!!! Don't be absent on Friday!!! -Ms. B.Martinez
In math this week we will be learning how to write a number sentence that matches a word problem. We will be having our CBA over algebraic reasoning on Friday. Make sure you ask questions if you need help with anything. -Ms. Lester

In ELA this week we will be learning about the different characteristics of children's literature. We will be learning how to use specific word choice and language to show voice in writing. We will be taking our end of unit 4 CBA test. Please remind students to read at least 20 minutes each day! -Ms. Brown

This week in 3rd grade math we are finishing up the topic of division. I encourage everyone to practice their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts over Thanksgiving break. Please let me know if you need help locating resources. -Ms. Curtis

4th Grade ELA will identify facts and opinions in text. We will continue to write a personal narrative. There will be a homework assignment due on Friday. It is a "Agree and Disagree" graphic organizer. Students may choose a topic to complete the assignment. Please sign the homework before your student turns it in on Friday. Thank you!-Mrs. Driver

This week in reading we will be concentrating on comprehension when we read a story or passage and pulling out information from the text. Please check with your students to have them log on each day to zoom on time with cameras on, and to check for any missing work. Thank you for all you do!-Mrs. Dunford
Hello 5th grade parents and guardians!
This week we are finishing up our fractions unit in math. Their test will cover adding, subtracting, multiplying with a fraction and a whole number, and dividing fractions with models. Please check to make sure they are completing all review questions. Thanks for all you do!-Ms. Piscacek
In science we will be studying the Earth's rotation(5.8C). The student is expected to demonstrate that Earth rotates on its axis once approximately every 24 hours causing the day/night cycle and the apparent movement of the sun across the sky. In social studies we are studying the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The colonists were disgruntled about being taxed and not represented.-Mr. Walton
STEM Classes
Ms. Drake' s1st-2nd STEM will be learning about animal characteristics that help them live in their environment. Students will be drawing and describing their favorite animals.
