Buda's News

February 2016

Bye, bye, January!

With testing, snow days, and a holiday, January was gone in a blink of an eye! Please enjoy our newsletter for highlights and reminders about what is happening in our classroom.

Tweet, Tweet!

Got Twitter? Then follow us @BudaCrew_PVES. We will still be using Remind as our main form of communication, but there will be some classroom highlights on Twitter.

Multiplication Reminders

I am so proud of how hard our students worked to learn the first group of multiplication facts! We are now hard at work on the 6's through the 12's. We practice facts daily at school, but they still need to be practiced at home. Learning these facts will greatly help other areas of math, such as division, fractions, and area. Two great places to go for online practice are Math Fact Cafe and Multiplication.com.

Valentine's Day

Your child has received information about Valentine's Day. Students should be working on a collection box at home, which can be brought to school any time after February 9. Students may bring in valentines and wrapped treats to pass out; just make sure there is one for each student! Also, a SignUpGenius email has been sent out to ask for a few items for this day.

Say Cheese!

Class picture day has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 16. Please wear your best smile! I will send a reminder closer to that date.

Here are some fun games for practicing fractions!
