News You Can Use!
And We Are Back!!!!
It is already mid-August which means that we are back in the swing of school! The transition has been smooth thus far and we are excited about the 2018-19 school year!
Learning Commons Orientation with our sixth graders was awesome - what a great group they are! And they were ready to check out their first book from the Bryan LC and join the reading culture that is so well-established here. All Bryan Patriots will be visiting the LC twice each month with their ELA class. Students will be taught short lessons relative to reading and/or technology. They are then free to 'shop' for and checkout a book to enjoy!
Morning in the Learning Commons
It's not your parents' library! The Bryan LC is a hub of activity each morning. We have kids checking out books, reading, watching sports on the flat screen, charging devices at our charging station, printing, researching, typing and finishing assignments. We hit the ground running here!
What I Am Reading
This book. A Truman nominee this year and a huge contender to win!!! I'm calling it now - this will be in the top 2!!!
Theme for the Year
Middle school is an adventure and we are ready for ours!
