On Diffendoofer day, we do a lot of fun things. Diffendoofer day is the day BEFORE the OAAs. We read a book by Dr. Suess called Hooray for Diffendoofer Day! We also celebrated and made our superhero capes and then wore them. Diffendoofer Day was a lot of fun!
-Frances & Joseph
We also tie-dyed t-shirts for field day. Our class color this year is purple. We had a great time doing it. For the end of the year, we made memory books too. Each day stands for a new letter, and we brainstorm our favorite things about fourth grade to write about. We published our memory books so that we can keep our writing and our memories.
OAA Superheroes
This year we did the OAAs(Ohio Achievement Assessment). We did the reading OAA on Tuesday and the math OAA on Wednesday. You take this test all the way up to 10th grade. In 5th and 8th grade you have to take the science OAA. We take these tests to see how much you have learned this year. To help us get ready, we studied superheroes In reading or math we are learning about Superheroes like Super Man, Flash, Spider Man and Iron Man. We are reading about them .The point of it is we are becoming Superheroes to fight the evil villains in the OAA test so we can get a 100%. While we are doing that we are having fun and learning at the same time. We also decorated capes that we made out of t-shirts. we also came up with superhero names.

Shredderman
Shredderman is a book our class read for read aloud. This book is about a boy named Nolan who gets bullied by Bubba Bixby and wants to do something about it. So, one day Mr.Green Nolan’s teacher assigns his students with a project. So nolan made a website about how big of a bullie bubba is.After Nolan finishes his site he sneaks up on top of the roof of his school and spreads confetti all over the school. One of our favorite parts of the site are the picture of Bubba’s BUTT! Another one of our favorite things we like about the book are that Nolan acts cool all the time like he can’t get caught! Nolan had lots of cool stuff about the site such as getting videos of bubba flipping little kids trays, and getting a picture of bubba’s butt.

Recess
We will be talking about kickball and soccer at recess. During recess kids in the fourth grade get together and make teams and go back in fourth switching sides kicking a round circular not square but circular ball. When you play kickball the rules are pretty simple. A pitcher rolls a ball and if you kick it out of bounds (foul ball) it is an out but also if you kick it and the other teams catches it or pegs you(throws ball at you and hits you) you are out. If you kick a ball in play and the other team does not catch it and you get on base without getting hit by the ball you are safe. There is a first baseman,a second baseman, and a third baseman there is also a outfield just incase someone kills(hits ball hard and far) a ball really far. Now on to soccer, when you play soccer you run around and try to kick the ball through to trees or the goal. Basketball is also something that some kids do at recess. I play with all my buddies we can get a little angry but it is always fun. Those are some of the games we play at recess at IHES

Green Acres
We went to green acres the OLD CHURCH! It was really fun this is what we did!
Insects
At green acres we went by the river to explore rocks and look at bugs. We found a lot of the same kind of insets in the water on the rocks. This helped us learn what kind of insects live underwater. Also we learned the when the insect grow big the swim, crawl, or fly away to mate.
ANIMALS WE SAW!
At GREEN ACRES we saw bats, snakes, toads, beetles, birds, and bees. It was fun seeing all the animals there were but we were not allowed to touch them because it is the rule there so we
can all stay safe and not hurt or stung, or bit by anything.
Trees
As we were hiking we saw lots and lots of trees. Our leader’s taught us a lot about them. They taught us how trees work and how what kind they were. The type of trees we saw are MAPEL, COTON TREE, and much much more!
Special Thanks
We would like to thank Pattie, Joe, Jim, and Donna for helping us learn all the things we didn’t know. They made everything fun for us! THANKS for everything! We really liked green acres and hope to go back again next year!!

Math
In math we have been learning about perimeter and area and we were taught how to identify if it’s area or perimeter for example if it says square unit it’s area and if it says around it means perimeter. We have also been learning about measurement like volume and weight and length. For volume are units were liters and for length feet, yards, inches, meters ,decimeters, miles, kilometers, millimeters and for weight grams, pounds, and tons.We also have been doing a lot of i charts which are lots of fun
to do.With i charts we need to write the question and figure out the answer and write what we did and we need to write why we did it and we need to rsq (restate the question) the answer or solution.

Metric Olympics
In math, our class did the metric olympics. Our class did the metric olympics because we needed to understand how big the units were. Mrs.Sprang helped us by giving us personal references. The metric olympics was fun we did a sponge station where we had to squeeze the sponge and estimate how many millimeters it was. We even threw a straw and estimated how far we threw that in centimeters. Also we had one when we had to throw a plate and estimate that in centimeters too. Lastly, we had a right handed marble grab. We grabbed a handful of marbles and estimated how much it weighed in grams.
