Renaissance Artists
This museum has paintings and sculptures from the 14th to 15th century, also known as the Renaissance period. You will see many paintings from well known artists like Titian, Filippo Lippi, and Raphael. Some of the paintings include the Seven Saints, Pope Paul III and his grandsons and the School of Athens.
Filippo Lippi
Filippo was born in 1406 and died in 1469 at the age of 59. Filippo has over 130 paintings. His most famous painting is The Annunciation with two kneeling donors. Published in 1445.
Seven Saints
Filippo started working on this picture in 1449 and finally finished in 1459. The exact dating of this painting is unknown but they believe this to be around the date it was actually painted. The 'Seven Saints' panel represents male members of the Medici family.
Barbadori Altarpiece
Filippo Lippi painted this painting in 1438. It was originally painted for the Barbadori Chapel in the Church of Santo Spirito. The family who owned that church also commisioned the painting of the Barbadori Altarpiece.
Titian
When Titian was born is uncertain, they think that he was born some where in between the years 1473 and 1482. Titan died in 1576 because of a fever from the Plague. His most famous painting is the "Assumption of the Virgin" published in 1518.
Pope Paul III and his grandsons
This painting happens to be an oil on canvas painting. It was commissioned by the Farnese family and executed during Titians visit to Rome between Autumn 1545 and June 1546. This painting is ranked as one of Titians grand and most penetrating papal portraits.
Allegory of Prudence
This painting is also an oil painting attributed to Titian and his assistants. The painting portrays three human heads, each facing in a different direction, above three animal heads. He started painting it in 1565 and finished in 1570.

Raphael
Raphael was born in 1483 and died at the age of 37 in 1520. His first famous painting was the "Stanze" which was published in 1511.
The School of Athens
Also known as Scuola di Atene in Italian. It is one of the most famous frescoes by Raphael. It was painted between 1509 and 1510. It was part of Raphaels' commission to decorate with frescoes the rooms now known as the Stanze di Raffaello.
The Transfiguration
This painting is the last painting ever painted by Raphael. He started painting it in 1516 and finished it in 1520. This painting was commissioned by Cardinal Giulio de Medici, then later Pope Clement VII and was decided an altarpiece for the Narbonne Cathedral in France.
