HMS Parents and Friends,

WHAT A WEEK AT HUGHES MIDDLE SCHOOL! Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, and Western Day helped make it a VERY fun week. Seeing our students having fun, working hard, and playing hard was a great sight.

We know our students are working hard with their academics, too. M.A.P. assessments and the 1st grading period ending was an academic challenge but they did it. Many were able to do the work to bring grades to passing and some brought grades from one letter grade up to another letter grade.

As we begin this week, the fun will continue but the best part is the fresh start everyone gets. We have new students and returning students starting Monday on campus so get ready to hear about new friends, renewed friendships, and possibly new routines. It is a great time to interact with your child about what they need to get on the track to more success this grading period.

We hope you will take a few minutes to read below for information about yearbook sales, online SCHOOL PICTURE orders, ticket sales for this week's games at home and away in Granbury (volleyball) and Weatherford (8th grade football), special dress days (Monday and Tuesday), and much more. We want you to be informed about your child's school and their education.

What you say and what you do matters. Keep it positive. Keep it consistent. Keep it about moving forward. We are committed to doing the same at Hughes Middle School.
