Marathon -- Saturday, September 30th 9:15 am. Goal: $300 in pledges for each student.
Our Marathon is only 3 weeks away! The Marathon information sheet was sent home last week with your child.
Start collecting pledges through PLEDGESTAR or collect checks or cash. PledgeStar will allow you to collect online donations from grandparents, family and friends near and far. Cash and checks may be turned into the school office.
Sept. 30th- Prayer begins at 9:15 a.m., then we begin walking, running, or biking. Then join us at the park for hot dogs, chips, and cookies sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
NEW THIS YEAR: We will have interactive stations along the route and the MN Nice Cream truck at the park with many ice cream and coffee items. This is a great way to meet other families in our school! Please plan on attending.
PledgeStar - How to set up your account
For our Marathon 2023 this year, we're using an awesome web based fundraising system that makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. It's fun, it's easy, and people who use it typically raise twice as much as those who don't!
Remember, our Marathon 2023 is September 30, so please register now to help our school raise as much as we can for things that will benefit our learning such as: STEM materials, technology, hands-on materials, and student activities.
Using your computer's browser:
- Go to http://pledgestar.com/sacredheart
- Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
- Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
- Follow the instructions on-screen to register Jogger(s) and add family and friends
Using your Android or Apple phone or tablet:
- Go to the Apple App Store on IOS or the Amazon App Store on Android and search for "PledgeStar" to download the Family App, or go to https://pledgestar.com/sacredheart/downloadapp.html
- On the home screen enter your event code: “sacredheart” to locate your event
- Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
- Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
- Follow the instructions on-screen to register Jogger(s) and add family and friends
When you finish, the system emails pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online.

The Child’s Hunger
“Young children not only have religious capacities but a particular religious hunger as well. When a child is hungry, he or she must be fed now, without waiting until tomorrow. This hunger is not always easy for us to satisfy, because little children live their relationship with God in a very different way than we do. But this same fact is also the source of wonderful gifts that come to us when we try to nourish their hunger for God. After all, God is not only the God of adults and, if Jesus said we are to be like little children to enter the kingdom of God, then they must have something to teach us.” - Sofia Cavalletti, The Good Shepherd and the Child: A Joyful Journey, revised and updated.
Our Preschool students will begin attending atrium sessions during the school day on September 20th. If you have any children ages 3-5 that you would like to register for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, please contact Morgan Leisgang at 763-285-6246 or mleisgang@shrmn.org.

Art Adventure, PreK-8
Calling for Art Adventure Volunteers!
Please consider being a “Picture Person” in a classroom(PreK-8th grade)! We present Art Adventure, a program created by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, to students in November and December. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours. This year’s theme will be American Stories. Classroom Picture People are not art historians or artists themselves, instead, you will lead students in conversations about art, listen as they describe what they see, talk about what the artist is hoping to express, how the art makes them feel. Any parent would be a great Picture Person!
The MIA provides amazing virtual and in-person training, a printed book for you to keep, and art reproductions for presenting. Training opportunities begin late September through October and November!
Please use SignUp to claim your spot. Contact Joanna Rosendahl with any questions 612-876-1929 (call or text), email: joannarosendahl@gmail.com Joanna is a volunteer and parent of a fifth grader and is coordinating Art Adventure this year.
