October news
We thank you for helping us with our first ever virtual conferences. We hope you found these helpful and you were able to gain additional information regarding how your student is progressing this year.
We are excited to partner with the PTA and bring you the "Drive by in Disguise". This event will be on Friday October 30th. In order to accommodate the drive by, we will be running a shortened schedule (2 hour early dismissal schedule). Our staff are looking forward to seeing students and families.
In order to follow social distancing guidelines and make the parade easily accessible, please note the following:
- All students and families MUST remain in cars.
- Since some close proximity may occur, please use a face covering.
- Staff will be lined up along the route by grade level to help you identify your child's teacher.
- Please wave and say hello, but please DO NOT stop along the route.
- Goody bags (provided by the PTA) will be handed out at the end of the route. Allergy bags will be available as well, please share the need for an allergy bag when you get to the hand out station.
We are looking forward to a fun afternoon with our MPS Knights!
The end of term 1 will occur on November 6th. FCPS will be grading students in all subject areas, including art, PE, and music. Our staff is working to gauge student understanding towards mastery of skills in many ways. If your child's teacher has a concern regarding progress, an interim has been sent home.
Thank you for continuing to partner with us in your child's education.
We also love to see your pictures of our students learning. You can share them on Twitter and tag @PrincipalMPS and include the hashtag #knightpride.
Fondly,
Sandy Fox
Principal
